Exodus 1:10-12

¹⁰ Come, let us ^(A)deal ^[a]shrewdly with them, otherwise they will multiply, and ^[b]in the event of war, they will also join those who hate us, and fight against us and ^[c]depart from the land.” ¹¹ So they appointed ^(B)taskmasters over them to oppress them with ^[d](C)hard labor. And they built for Pharaoh ^(D)storage cities, Pithom and ^(E)Raamses. ¹² But the more they oppressed them, ^(F)the more they multiplied and the more they ^[e]spread out, so that they dreaded the sons of Israel.
